I am so thankful for the privilege I had this morning to exalt Christ at Woodside Detroit by honoring the lives of these 21 Egyptian Christians who were slain for their faith. They were accused of being People of the Cross; men who, as the blade came to their neck, cried in unison “O My Lord Jesus!"
I want to be a woman of the Cross. I want to see Christ enough to risk everything for His glory. I want to be too consumed with Him to waste time licking wounds over silly offenses, too consumed to waste time arguing over petty differences, too consumed to waste time fretting over matters that mean nothing in the light of eternity.
These men. What a resplendent testimony to the everlasting authority of God and His Word.
"...For the accuser of our brothers & sisters, who accuses them before our God day & night has been hurled down. They TRIUMPHED over him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; they did not love their lives so much as to shrink from death." Revelation 12:10-11
To the 21 Men of Revelation 12: You are my heroes.
